No, I didn’t go MIA. It has just been really busy and I’m having trouble managing time. I want to do too many things.
Before I write anything else I want to point out something Katie made me aware of. The photo of the big kangaroo that's on the cover page is there because if you look at it carefully on the web version you will see that the mama kangaroo has a little joey in her pouch. If you scroll down you'll just be able to see some little ears and a little 'roo face there. I thought that was so neat I had to post it.
Anyway, enough with the excuses. After Melbourne we had a day at sea when I did manage to write about my wonderful tour there. We had our last Trivia, a stand-alone game, which we won! After trivia the ship had one of my favorite events, the Galley Market Lunch, where we go through the galley to select our lunch foods from the various spectacular stations the galley has prepared. I've written about these on other cruises and I'm always awed by the work that goes into this single meal. I made a pass through the galley just taking pictures. I realized that I didn't do a really good job capturing the food, but you can see lots of smiling faces who were responsible for our feast.
The following day we stopped at a place called Bateman’s Bay, a place where we could take a tour to Canberra. I had spoken to Julia, Destinations Manager, and she told me that the tender ride would be 35 to 45 minutes. To get into Canberra would be a two hour drive each way. When I looked outside it was very overcast and spitting rain once in a while. I made an executive decision and decided to stay onboard. It was a good one as it turned out because it poured rain several times and friends who had gone ashore said they didn’t see much. I answered e-mails and paid bills and generally relaxed because the next day I was to be in Sydney with a long tour.
