Time to Wake Up! Less than three weeks to go.

I haven’t posted in a long time.  Since we ended our last cruise  we made some significant changes.  Four days after we got home we closed on a new house.  After nearly 30 years we had decided we needed a change. While the move wasn’t far away in distance, the change was dramatic. Who knew how much stuff one can accumulate over the years!  Fortunately we didn’t downsize, so many of the “treasures” came along with us.  We knew that our first year in our new home we just needed to settle in, thus no cruise was planned.  Now we’re ready to go.

The Seabourn Quest

-->
We leave soon for a  cruise on the Seabourn Quest to the Baltic and the coast of Norway.  Our first Seabourn cruise was on the Quest from Barcelona to Rio and we were hooked.  This time we begin in Stockholm and end in Copenhagen with a lot of places in between.  All the ports are new for Al and most are for me too.  We’ll spend a few nights in Stockholm before we board.  Along the way we have three days in St. Petersburg.  I’m looking forward to my first visit to Russia and seeing the splendid sights.  We’ll be there during the “White Nights”  when there is really no darkness and the city doesn’t even need to turn on street lights.  Hopefully our cabin will have good drapes or it will be hard to sleep.

Packing may be a little challenge.  I've been trying to track temperatures and it looks like we'll have moderate ones in the Baltic cities we visit.  The North Cape may be cold though, especially because we're doing at least one zodiac trip.  We'll bring layers, and if we need something warmer we're going to the land of beautiful sweaters (Norway).  For the first time for as far back as I can remember, Al isn't bringing a tux.  That will give a little more space in the suitcases.

So, more to come in the next few weeks.
