Well, we're getting down to crunch time and we need to start packing. The suitcases are on the beds in the spare bedrooms. We don't have nearly as many as in this photo of a sculpture we saw in the Santiago, Chile, airport, although we still have plenty of bags. I always hope they won't wind up in a pile like this. We would be much better off if we didn't have to pack shoes. They just take up so much space! A week from now we'll be snoozing in Venice. Hooray!

It's almost cruise time again!
Hard to believe that nearly a year has passed. It turns out that for the upcoming cruise on the Ruby Princess we have three other couples from Tidewater sailing as well. We sailed with Dorothy and Joe before and it has been nice to renew an old friendship. Cyndi and Ed and Bill and Irene are new friends that we've met through the Cruise Critic Roll Call. We call ourselves the "Tidewater Eight" and we've had several get-togethers, most recently this past Sunday. We four wives have been getting together for the Tidewater Ruby Girls lunches and they have been so much fun! Hopefully we'll continue this even after the cruise is past.
Now it's time to begin getting ready for the 2009 adventure. We've only started a list so far. The suitcases aren't even out of the attic yet. (I don't want to upset Lili, the schnauzer, yet.)
We're spending three nights in Venice before boarding the ship. I can't wait!
